Our Lady of Sorrows needs your help to win a $20,000 Environmental Prize– VOTE NOW

An outdoor classroom worth $20,000 is within reach for Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School in Petawawa. Students and staff are now hard at work on a publicity campaign, reports Principal Christina Brown, after becoming one of 10 finalists in the Majesta Trees of Knowledge Competition 2013.

The Canada-wide Trees of Knowledge competition is sponsored by Majesta, the maker of paper towels and tissue, “to generate inspiring, creative ideas where students can learn outside the traditional classroom.” Other sponsors are the Ontario Forestry Association’s Focus on Forests and Tree Canada, which promotes environmental stewardship and forestry education.
